Default A Head Start For Kids

These days money is tight but if you want to help the next generation get ahead or at least get to where they need to be (college, home owners, etc..) then parents need to start saving at least when it is discovered they are expecting a little one if not before.

The prices of education is on the rise making it more and more difficult for people to get into the career's of choice.

So to help kids get a head start in life parents do need to start saving money early on in life. It is a shame, because the prices of everything has gone up making it more and more difficult to get what is needed, wanted and still save a bit to top it all off.

This is so true! In addition to having something set up for a college fund, etc. children need to be taught the value of money. When ours earn allowance they have to use that allowance when they want to buy things. We also have secret savings accounts for them in which money is transferred from the checking account twice a month. They do not know about these accounts and hopefully it will be a nice amount to surprise them with at high school graduation or when they leave for college etc.

I am glad to hear that your looking to the future and trying to make sure that your kids are going to be prepared.

Also teaching them how to value the dollar is going to be a huge benefit to them as well.

It really ticks me off to see these kids these days driving around in brand new cars that mommy and daddy bought for them and have the latest technologies (phones, computers, etc..). These are the kids that are clueless as to what it takes to earn a dollar.

I wish those parents would wake up and take a look at what they are doing. I know parents want the good things for their kids and things that they themselves didn't have as a child, but these days that kind of stuff doesn't fly well!! It is going to come back to bite them all in the butt unless that kid is smart enough to get a seriously high paying job to continue on in that learned lifestyle.
