Default Higher ATM Fees

This is not good at all. Everyone beware that some of the larger banks are now upping their ATM fees for non-customers.

Not only will you pay more for using an ATM where you don't have an account but your bank will also charge you for using an ATM somewhere else.

They are determined to get us I think!

Chase is testing out a $5 non-customer ATM fee. I think thats is a ridiculous price.

JP Morgan Chase is trying out $5 in Illinois and $4 in Texas.

Previously they had charged between $1.75 and $2.50.

And it's not just these two banks doing this, a lot of them are. You will have to check with your local banks to see what they are doing specifically.

Well that does really suck. Thankfully if I have to use another machine I can save my reciepts and take them to my bank. They will refund the fees to me. If it wasn't for that I would freak because they are a small town bank and there is only one atm machiine that I can use. Whew!

I have also noticed an increase in ATM fees. It used to be like $1.50 no matter which kind of machine I used but now, even when I use the ATMs associated with my bank, the fees are $3.00.

I guess that since so many people are out of work and banking for them is now nonexistant, that the banks are trying to find different ways to make money and of course, it all dwindles down to us.

It seems we as consumers spend out more and more and get less and less for our expenditures.

That is ridiculous, my sons bank will reimburse him any fees from atm's that a different bank charges, or no fees to use the ones at his bank, he uses Citizens.

Banks will stick it to the people any which way that they can. My old man just got a notice from his bank that if he uses an ATM other than one from his bank he will be charged $3.00 each time.

Thankfully his bank does have many ATM's in the area plus his bank is really close to his home.

Banks just can't be trusted anymore. They will find a way to screw their customers as much as possible and make it appear to be needed. I know that with this country in economic distress things are difficult. We are ALL feeling it severly. Though some how something has to give and hopefully it isn't our wallets that have to be the ones that give!!

I so hate banks and all that they are doing to their customers to gain more money. People are stuggling enough already and to just add to the misery just isn't right!!
