Default New banking code cracks down on out-of-date software

Quote:
The banking industry has re-affirmed a policy that makes online banking customers responsible for losses if they have out of date anti-virus or anti-phishing protection. New Banking Codes for consumers and businesses took effect on Monday.
The Banking Code produced by the British Bankers' Association (BBA), and followed by most banks, makes it clear that banks will not be responsible for losses on online bank accounts if consumers do not have up to date anti-virus, anti-spyware, and firewall software installed on their machines
This is some intersting information i would never do banking on line my self i dont trust hackers not to get my information and use it but then again they always seem to find a way dont they.

This policy may be good for banks but isn't good
for consumers. I have a firewall installed. I close my
browser after I got to my banks website and I always
log out before I do. I hope that it is enough but I keep
an eye on my account all the time.

It is also a good idea to clear your history of websites visited. With Vista, I only have to click on Edit on my upper tool bar and click on Clear Toolbar History.

This way if someone does hack your computer, there at least, isnt your history to tell them where to start looking. It makes their job a lot harder to get to your personal information.
