Default Pay Card ATM Fee's

I recently started working for a retail company that instead of giving pay checks they use pay cards to pay employees every week.

This seemed like a good thing because I don't trust banks and thought that having a pay card that I could use anywhere would be a benefit on my part.

This isn't really the truth. Any time that I need to get cash from an ATM I have to pay a fee! This means that any time I need to get my hands on cash for something I am losing money because of these damn fees that ATM's charge for useage.

There are only 2 ATM's that are with in a 40 minute drive of my home that don't cost me to use. So when I need money I have to drive 40 minutes one way to get the money and then possibly an hour in the opposite direction to get to where I need to be.

ATM fees should be erased!! To many people depend on ATM's and banks are taking advantage of that fact and charging peeps!!

Default Re: Pay Card ATM Fee's

Yep, banks do charge a lot of fees to use their ATM's, and it can add up to a lot of money if you use those ATM's a few times a month.

The only advice I can think of to give you is that you should think about taking all the money you can from one of the "free" ATM's as soon as you get paid and this way you will have the cash to pay your bills, etc.

I think I read that you can use these cards as you would a charge/debit card. You can use them in a store the same way. I'm not sure if you can use them online for bill pay, but maybe you can check to see if this is a possibility for you.
