Default Web Banking becoming more popular

I really have a problem with banking on line. I guess my bigest fear is identity theft. There are some really smart people out there that can hack into anything and having my bank information out there for them to find is a problem with me. But as you will read below many people are finding it a option that they can't refuse.

NEW YORK (April 15) - Banks have been disappointing customers many ways lately - tightening mortgage lending standards, paring back home-equity and credit-card lines and lowering savings interest rates - but they're receiving higher marks for at least one thing: their Web sites.

For all the hardships banks are tangling with, a new survey shows that their Web sites are gaining popularity. A customer satisfaction index gives online banking a score of 82 out of 100 points, up from 73 five years ago.

Well I guess I am the only one suffering from this fear of online banking. Maybe one day I will jump on the band wagon but for now I will do my banking at my local bank.

I admit that I too was slow when it came to doing my banking online, but have finally jumped on the bandwagon. It is really convenient, but it is also scary. The reason I finally joined in the online banking craze, was speaking to my niece who is a bank manager, and she explained all of the security measures they take with online banking and made me feel a better about it. It's true about the hard drive on your computer, everything that you have ever done with your computer is stored there and it's very good advice to remove it from an old computer before donating it or getting rid of it in any way.
