After a death tax filing.

My husband passed away in August of this year and we had filed for an extension on our taxes which makes them due to be mailed in by midnight tonite.

I had to let my tax person know the date of his death in order for her to pass on the information to the IRS.

This will be the last year that I have to file married filing jointly. From now on, it will be just me filing.

Be sure to check the IRS website to make sure that you do everything they need to have done in a case like this. No sense in making needless mistakes in this point of the game.

Taxes are done, all needed information filed with the IRS and were dropped in the mail by the midnight deadline.

All I have to do today is make out the check to send to the IRS for the payment of the taxes which I forgot to send in the envelope with the tax return.

Too much stress right now, but who would have thought that I would have forgotten to send the payment in?
