Default Exemptions.

I had filed my taxes with the same exemptions every year. I believe most people just stick with what works but your status may have changed.

One year we ended up filing with more than we had to start with at the beginning of the year. My daughter moved in with us and was pregnant. She had no income and had the baby that year. We were able to claim both of them on our income taxes. That was very helpful as it got many diapers.

One year I was able to file tax exempt because of my income and could not forsee paying any taxes. I would have gotten everything back anyway. As always please consult a tax preparer before you make any decision that may affect your tax results. None of us likes to be audited.
