New Taxes in Scott County

To often as of lately more and more people are hearing that there will be a new tax. Well sad to say it is happening again, for those living in Scott County. Soon they will be expected to bare yet another tax increase. Just last there there was an increase because the county needed to pass a twelve million dollar bond resolution to build a new jail in the area, and now just 365 days later there is expected another increase because they are having to use the old jail still. This of couse is because several bids which were made for the construction of the new jail have been rejected by the county.All of this after it took years to find the right place to build the jail as well as comming up with the right design for it.
Now there is only just over nine million dollars left to spend on the construction of the new jail because it alone took three million dollars to get the location prepared for the construction and other costs. Nine million dollars was the base bid of the lowest bid though it is looking like not even twelve million would be enough to build the new jail.
Sadfully everyone is a victim of crime. As crime rates continue to increase the need for agencies of law enforcements increase, equipment for these law enforcement agencies, as well as the costs it takes to put these criminals away. In the end it always comes down to the people to pay in the form of new taxes.

Yes, the little people always are the ones to pay it seems. Does it feel that way to you? The goverment keeps growing, big businesses keep getting richer and we foot the bill.

Yes I feel the same way. I am tired of paying for everything the goverment does. To many positions in the goverment are not needed, and we all end up paying their salaries. Then all they do is end up making up new taxes for this or for that so we have more to pay. It is a vicious cycle.
