Default Stimulus money is pouring into stores.

My husband and I got ours yesterday. We went and paid a couple of bills. Then we went to get something to eat. We go to a chinese restraunt in town and that has to be the most people I have seen there in six months.
The place was packed.
We went to walmart afterward and they were also very busy. I didn't see people buying big ticket items. They were buying groceries and some clothes mostly. I did see one lady purchase a bassinet. People are thinking about what is going to happen once this money is spent I think.
It was nice to see the stores busy again. I just wish there were more jobs available. If there were the being busy would last a little longer. We need more than just a little cash to get us going. We need something to keep us going well into the future.

Default Stimulus money

I am happy to hear that people are using thier money the way tha president thought they would but i have to wonder in the long run if they are gong to want to save the money for the winter and with price of gas it would seem smarter to use it for these things rather than a new tv or phone i mean really

I imagine that there are families out there that have several children, and that a good bit of the money will go for food.

Some may be used to catch up on bills, but with fuel prices the way they are right now, I would think that more people would be filling up their home heating tanks now, because this winter, prices for home heating fuels will be even higher yet.

We have no big plans for our but to help with getting us through the higher prices of gas and food. I plan on filling my freezer with meat and feeling better that I know there is food in the house.

I received this in an email anonymously, it's meant as a joke but you may find some truth in it.

Quote:
As you may have heard, each of us will be getting a tax rebate check to stimulate the economy.

If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China. If we spend it on gasoline, it will go to the Arabs. If we purchase a computer, it will go to India. If we purchase fruits and vegetables, it will go to Mexico, Honduras, Brazil and Guatemala. If we purchase a good car, it will go to Japan. If we purchase useless stuff, it will go to Taiwan. And, none of it will help the American economy.

We need to keep that money here in America. The only way to keep that money here at home is to spend it at yard sales since those are the only businesses still in the US!
