Default Strange Tax Write Offs

Learning what you can and can not deduct on your taxes makes that time of the year go more smoothly. Here are a few things that both can and can not be deducted.

Breast Implants. A stripper was able to deduct breast implants on her taxes because they were considered a stage prop.

If your thinking of hiring an arsonist to burn down your failing business, its not a good idea to try and deduct the arsonists fee's on your taxes.

Pet Food. Junk yards that have problems with snakes and rats can place bowls of cat food out to attract strays which will also deal with the infestations. This is allowable because these strays make the business safer for workers and customers alike.

One man attempted to hire a dog sitter to watch his dog while he was at work. Needless to say Uncle Sam didn't favor this deduction either.

If your pet helps you at work, don't bother trying to make it into a tax deduction. It rarely works.

Putting in a swimming pool? If it isn't doctor ordered don't bother trying to write it off. This is another one that is frowned upon.

These are just a few things that have been approved and denided by the IRS when it came to tax season.
