Default Tax breaks.

Did you know that there are lots of tax breaks for you. If you make improvements to your home you can use many of those.

Adding things like a wind turbine, solar panels or some types of appliances are also good for extra bucks.

Check out the IRS website to see what you can use and what you can't. I like to check it out occasionally and I also check my state website to see what breaks they are giving.

Doing both can help you to prepare for filing your taxes and getting the most money you can back. Good luck and hopefully you get loads of cash back.

Default Re: Tax breaks.

I know a lot of people spent a big portion of their time in 2010 job hunting. Some things having to do with job hunting are tax deductible.

For instance usually any travel expenses that you incur while looking for a job is tax deductible. But if you bought a new suit and got a haircut for a job interview, not tax deductible.

Quote:
The cost of printing and mailing resumes is tax-deductible, for instance, as are fees charged by outplacement services, yet most people didn't know about either tax break.

A widespread misconception that could add up to big penalties later: 40% said that anyone who is unemployed is exempt from filing a tax return at all.
For sure, check out the website and don't be afraid to ask a tax professional what is deductible and what isn't. Always better safe than sorry.
