Default Tax Cheaters

Do you cheat on your taxes? From what I read on CnnMoney a lot of Americans do. According to a poll 4% of Americans cheat on their taxes. Thirteen percent of the people polled are afraid of being audited by the IRS.

They actually expect a rise in tax cheaters this year with the economy being bad and people needing to get as much back as they can or to pay the least amount possible.

Quote:
"I think the temptation will be greater this year, given the overall economic environment," said Bob Kerr, senior director of government relations at the National Association of Enrolled Agents.

One thing I can say I don't cheat on my taxes. I would be scared to death to do that!

Some of the most common ways to cheat people use are they claim more charitable donations or they claim business expenses that are actually personal expenses. They also said that most people cheat by mistake because the tax code is so complicated and hard to understand.
