Tax rebate, food stamp money in aid plan?
Congress will likely be called back to work after the election to possibly pass legislation that would include extended jobless benefits, more money for food stamps, and maybe a tax rebate. This decision was made after speaking with Obama.
If this bill is passed, it could cost $150 billion. But officials have stressed that no final decisions have been made yet.
The democrats are increasingly confident of Obama being elected and if this happens, they will call a "lame duck' session of Congress to start work on a response to the credit crisis.
Nancy Pelosi, House Speaker, agrees that the $150 billion dollar stimulus package is necessary.
