Default Tax rebate, food stamp money in aid plan?

Congress will likely be called back to work after the election to possibly pass legislation that would include extended jobless benefits, more money for food stamps, and maybe a tax rebate. This decision was made after speaking with Obama.

If this bill is passed, it could cost $150 billion. But officials have stressed that no final decisions have been made yet.

The democrats are increasingly confident of Obama being elected and if this happens, they will call a "lame duck' session of Congress to start work on a response to the credit crisis.

Nancy Pelosi, House Speaker, agrees that the $150 billion dollar stimulus package is necessary.

We sure could use some help in these economic times. I feel that we may as well add some benefits to ourselves, even though we'll have to pay it back........after all, our government already has us in debt up to our ears. Our great-great-great-grandchildren will probably still be paying off the debt that we owe.

I agree, we as a country are in some very hot water financially. It is pretty scary to think how far in debt we really are! I have heard about this next stimulus package and in my opinion its kind of a no win situation. Simply because we do have to pay it back along with the debt they have already created for us!
