Default Tax Scams warnings from IRS.

One of the Tax Scams the IRS warns about is through Tax Preparers. What they do is rig your taxes so that you get a bigger return, thus coming back to them for the next tax season. They also charge too much, and have even helped themselves to some of the tax payers refund. So beware of whom you have doing your taxes.

Another tax scam is when people hide money in off shore accounts in order to not pay taxes on it.

Emails are one way that scam artists try to get your personal information. Never answer one of these, instead forward the email to phishing@irs.gov.

There are many ways people try to get out of paying taxes, even going so far as reporting that they have -0- income. Which isnt smart to begin with as the IRS knows you have to have some way to pay your bills and eat every day.

You should be very carefull and be wary of big corporate companies to do your returns for you.Small bussinesses are who I find to be more trust worthy.

The IRS has started to try and step in and help by requiring all tax prepares to be registered throught the IRS now. They are given a preparer tax identification number to be attached to your returns. You should make sure that your proparer has one of these numbers.

Make sure that before you try and recieve a gas tax credit that you truly are eligable for it.This is one of the items in which the IRS says that they are finding alot of falsifying going on.

There are stiff penalties for falsifying information on your returns so be very sure that everything is correct before you turn them in.

Every single time you turn around anymore you are hearing about some new type of scam going on somewhere. Its getting way out of control. Its seriously getting more and more difficult to trust anyone anymore.

You really said a mouth full on that one dimetime!! It is such a shame that more and more people are trying to rip people off.

I remember when we went to bed with the windows open and the doors unlocked. Those days are long gone!!! You never know who to trust anymore. And I hate to say it that includes family!!
