Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, and our nation was the most prosperous in the world.

We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middleclass in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.

What happened? Can you spell 'politicians?' Something is definitely wrong with this picture!

I can't agree with you more - it's a crazy situation that just continues to get out of hand.

Then our wonderful politicians decide to ship our jobs overseas so we can't even pay the taxes they've put in place. No wonder people won't vote to improve our school systems, libraries, and roads with tax levies anymore - we can't afford that luxury anymore!!!

You know what kills me...

You get paid everyweek, and out of that check come income tax and state tax..if you get taxed in your state.

Then, when you go shopping with that same check money, you pay taxes on almost everything you buy.

Then at the end of the year, you pay taxes on the same money again!!!!!!

you get taxed three separate times on the same money!! that is ridiculous.

I so completely agree with you Empty Wallet. We are all being taxed to death. I wish we could turn back the hands of time to when we were able to keep our money rather than have it taken away for taxes. Reguardless of what you do today, there is always a tax on it, it seems.

We really do need to get back to the basics and more simplier times.

Also, then they wonder why so many people need to go on welfare. It is simple. Let people who earn a living keep the money they have earned and they will no longer need welfare. What happened to our great country?
