$250 for Seniors

I just read that President Obama is asking that all senior citizens get another stimulus payment in the amount of $250.00. This is similar to the one that was sent out at the beginning of the year. It would also be exempt from income tax.

They say that the cost of living will not be adjusted for senior citizens living on a fixed income in 2010. It will remain the same.

I must say that I am sure that $250.00 stimulus payment came in handy and they would appreciate receiving it again but lets be honest, how much good could that have done them. They need to receive more each month. The cost of medicine, utilities and so on are just going up, up, up but monthly checks are not.

If congress approves Obama's request, payments would be sent out in the first half of next year.

I think its a good thing but it should be coupled with some allowences for seniors. Plus why wait till next year. People need it now I know many who are in desperate need of heat for the winter.

The government programs just aren't getting things done. There is so much red tape that many get passed over. How do you think those people who do those jobs would feel if it was their parents.
