Default Companies in Northern Ohio Now Helping Employees with Travel Costs

Northern Ohio companies join in the trend of helping workers get to work on less money. There are several ways they are doing this, compressing workweeks, helping to organize carpools, even helping with housing closer to the workplace.

When fuel was cheaper, peoplemay have thought little of a 30-mile scoot to work. But now, in a midsize sedan, that $9 to $10 a day for gas can be a budget buster.
Some employers show signs of feeling their workers' pain. Or at least they realize that stewing over the increasing price of commutingcan be a workplace distraction

I'm sure glad that Ohio companies are realizing how hard it is on people financially just to get to work, and are trying to do something to help. It would be nice if this is a growing trend across the country.

I have been hearing a lot of this lately. Companies want to
keep their employees and this is the easiest way to do so.
If the cost of gas affects their ability to get to work they
may quit for a job closer to home. In some cases it is cheaper
to help an existing employee to continue to work than to try and
higher another.

Congratulations Northern Ohio for trying your best to keep your employess happy with out breaking there bank accounts. I also heard where companies are makeing 4 day work weeks instead of 5 with longer shift work days 10-12-even 16 hr work days to get the work done so the employees get at least one day repreive from traveling to work.
