Before applying for credit cards first:

1.Read the booklet that comes with the application very carefully.

2.Shop around for the best credit card deal.

3.Think very carefully about what you need a credit card for.

Most important make sure to use credit cards wisely, do not get in over your head, it is not a good idea to have more then one, use it only for emergencies.

We have no credit cards because the interest on them is out of this world, plus the different fees are also really up there.

Instead I use my bank card when I am on the road or visiting, that way, there are no payments to be made and I dont have to worry about ever having to try paying a card off.

I go by what my Dad used to say. If you cant pay cash you dont need it.
