Default Declutter to Save Money

I never really thought about decluttering as a way to save money but it does make sense.

Decluttering your house will force you to examine what you have, what you actually use and why you have the things that you have.

Has anyone here done this... You know you have whatever it is that you need but you can't find it (hence all the clutter) so you go out and purchase another one and then find the one you were looking for? I have done that.

Here is a sobering task for you. Go through your house and find all of the things that you bought but never use. Put them together in a pile and add up the cost of each item. It's amazing what we all spend on needless items all of the time. And most of us do that. We purchase things not out of necessity but want and down the road- usually not far down the road we are over it. We don't care about what we have bought. Essentially we waste a lot of money this way. I know I am guilty.

Have a yard sale and try to recoup some of your cost. But let it be a lesson for the future. Really think about what you are buying before you buy it.
