Default Gas Guzzlers When buying them makes sense

This might not make a lot of sense to a lot of people but it dose make perfect sense it would save someone who doesn't drive a lot to fill it up once and it would last this person a long time think about it

When Buying A Gas Guzzler Makes Sense

Dow Jones & Company, Inc.

The gasoline-price-induced collapse of the sport-utility-vehicle market presents a quandary for consumers. With gas at $4 a gallon, SUVs no longer make affordable commuter vehicles. But at the same time, they've never been cheaper.
Manufacturers are offering between $2,000 and $5,000 in discounts on once strong-selling models like the Ford Explorer and Chevrolet Suburban, and dealers say there's plenty of negotiating room after that. Discounting is even heavier on used vehicles, with some selling at roughly one-third the price they would have fetched new four years ago.[/quote

And the cost of the SUV and the bigger gas hogs are very inexpensive right not because the ones who travels the most are not buying or are traveling then in on smaller economy cars

This may make a little sense, but to me it makes very little sense. With the cost of gasoline so high, and with the amount of gasoline it takes to drive these gas hogs, it wouldn't take very long at all to make up the $3,000 in discounts offered here. It would only make sense to me, if someone could afford to buy one of them now, and then leave it sit in a garage until the price of gasoline does come down to an affordable level. I don't know too many people who could afford to do that. Of course, this is only my opinion, which doesn't count for much, lol.

I miss our old suburban but I don't miss the hefty gas tab. We would
have to spend over $100 each fill up if we had her now and she would
suck it up that you would fill it twice a week. I don't know about the
rest of you but I can't afford that I don't care how much of a discount
they give you on the purchase. I would need free gas forever to even
think about buying one now.
