The identity theft protection company LifeLock has settled charges against them claiming that they deceptively made claims about their abilities to protect people from identity theft.

They will pay $11 million to the Federal Trade Commission and $1 million to a group of 35 state attorneys general. This was the biggest largest joint FTC-state settlements on record.
I have seen their commercials on television in the past. They charge $10 a month and claim that they can completely protect you from identity theft. As it turns out many peoples identities were still stolen. I am sure their commercials are not claiming full protection now.
