Default Rebate issues forseen.

If you make a purchase that includes a rebate you may be in for a very long wait. One of the largest rebate handling companies has filed chapter 11 bancruptcy. This could mean some hangups if you want your money soon.

The company Continental Promotion Group Inc. has handled rebates for a couple of hundred different companies. It was stated that they are working hard to ensure that the rebate checks are good. I certainly hope so.

It is a shame that things just continue to get worse and worse. The more I read the news the more worried I get. There is light at the end of the tunnel I presume we just have to wait for this slow train we are on to reach the end.

What I feel is especially alarming is the fact that the percentage of people who actually take advantage of rebate offers is unbelievably low--something like 40%. Kind of makes you wonder about the business practices of rebate companies. I didn't even realize that companies like Amazon.com use rebates so much--you really have to look at the fine print of your purchase; if you do, chances are there is a rebate there just waiting for you, or, at the very least, a special offer. And as much shopping as I do on Amazon, I really have to teach myself to be more observant. (Sorry this post is such rambling one! )
