Default The Cost of Sports

It is unreal to me how much they now charge to get into a highschool softball game. My oldest daughter is a pitcher for her highschool softball team. She has as many as four games a week. I love to watch her play and I really tyr not to miss any games. But it's going to be hard not to miss this year with how much they are charging to get in. It costs $5 for adults and $3 for students. For my family to go it costs us $16 per game. Multiply that by the four games a week and thats $64 a week!!! That doesn't include the gas to get there or for drinks or anything! I just think that is ridiculous. They used to not charge anything.

I'd like to know where all of that money is going because we did all kinds of fundraisers, we bought the beverages for the concession stands, we paid $30 for sign-ups. Thats just some of what we have done so far.

There is no doubt that I will miss a few games because I just won't be able to afford it every game. That really stinks.

Wow, that is horrible and that is just way to much money to fork out every single week to watch a game.

It really does make you seriously wonder where all the money is going?? You would need to have a second or third job just to make sure that you could afford to watch your kids play softball.

More and more in life is becoming all about the money. There doesn't seem to be anything that is actually free anymore. There are always strings attached.

My daughter's assistant coach was talking to her the other day. He was talking about how the girls on the team have raised a ton of money doing all kinds of fundraisers such as selling t-shirts, candybars, tagging and so on so that they can buy new helmets which they really need and the head coach keeps saying that they don't have the money! I tagged with my daughter and she made $200 by herself just tagging! So how is it with thirty some girls (varsity and J.V.) they don't have any money!!!

That really has me upset and I can imagine what will happen when the other players parents find out! There will be a blow out! Where has the money gone!!!!

Those girls worked really hard to raise the money and now they are not getting helmets! The ones they have are too big. They fly off their heads as they run the bases!

This is really ridiculous. The coach is going to have to account for all of that money!

I would really be looking into where in the heck all of the money is going because something sure isn't right.

It sounds like the girls are doing all that they can to get more money for the teams and they are doing very well at it.

I would also seriously be upset by this and would be demanding to know exactly where all of the money that the girls have been raising for the team has been going.

I would imagine that they would have to let the parents know where the money is going and what it is being used for.
