Unusual McDonald's
I saw this last night on tv. It was about some of the most unusual McDonalds in the world.
When someone mentions the name McDonald's the first thing that pops into mind is cheese burgers, fries, drink and of course Ronald McDonald.
Though that is not always the case. There is a man who is actually traveling around with the plan to dine at all of the unusual McDonald's that he can find.
That would be something cool to do if you had the money needed to be able to do something like that.
Here are some pictures of the unusual McDonalds and some of them are real unusual.

Re: Unusual McDonald's
You would have to really love McDonalds to do this. I could think of other reasons to go across the world...

Re: Unusual McDonald's
In my travels abroad for school and family, I always found it interesting how the McDonald menus would adapt to the culture. In Thailand, for instance, alongside the apple pies on the menu they have red bean pies and "cereal" pies (think creamed corn). And a lot more pork is served in McDonald's in their international menus than it is in the United States. You can still get a hamburger and a Big Mac in every single one, but you may find that in Germany, you can get your value meal with a Heineken instead of a Coke. Oddly enough, McDonald's is making the world smaller in terms of differences and larger in terms of waist circumference--but, I guess it says something when they do it in the native cuisine.

Re: Unusual McDonald's
I think that it would be fantastic to be able to travel to other countries, eat cheap, and yet be able to enjoy the local cuisine along with the kinds of foods we are used to.
I wonder what other countries offer in the way of native cuisine at their McDonalds? Any one here know?

Re: Unusual McDonald's
I did a little research on the menu's found all over the world at different McDonalds. Here is what I found, and I am sure that you will also find it interesting.
Foreign McDonald Foods
And here are even more foods that can be found in a variety of McDonalds all over the world.
McDonalds
Just looking at some the differents kinds of foods that are found in the different McDonalds makes me want to travel the world and give these different foods a try.
It is a shame that I just can't afford to do something like that! Though maybe one day I will get lucky and win the lottery and then I may just have to do something like that.

Re: Unusual McDonald's
I'm with you, dimetime--when that winning lottery ticket ends up in your hand, it's best to have at least a little plan in place as to what to do with the money. After all, luck favors the prepared, right?
Back in 10 B.C. (that is, Before Children), I used to travel quite a bit, and I was always amazed at what the world has to offer in terms of food and familiarity. I guess it helps that American culture is pretty pervasive; even in the northern hills of Thailand, I could still find a Pizza Hut and a Snickers bar. Granted, most of the pizzas came with seafood toppings, but still. If you really have the travel bug, I can recommend some great travel books that will plop you right in the middle of an international adventure, and it will only cost you a trip to the library. Fake it 'til you make it, eh?

Re: Unusual McDonald's
It would be loads of fun I think to be able to just travel to these places and try their McDonalds. That could be on my list of things to do if I ever win the lottery. But would the weight gain be worth it?
Maybe if I planned to visit the local McDonalds then go on a hiking tour all would work out for the best.
Thanks Dimetime for the additional information.

Re: Unusual McDonald's
The only way I could manage to keep the weight of all this yummy McDonalds food was to some how walk all over the world to these places. Then at least I would burn off hopefully enough calories to counter all of the food,LOL.
Though this would mean I am stuck in the United States, because I have not yet discovered how to walk on water yet, .
Though to be able to try the wide variety of foods that you can find at all the amazingly different McDonalds would be really something that would be awesome.
Though until I do finally win that lottery for a bunch of money, I guess I will have to make due with the local book store and some books on foreign receipes.
