Default warranties.

Is it always necessary to purchase the extra warranty when you purchase a product.

Every time I buy something at Wal Mart they ask it I want the warranty. It doesn't make sense to me to buy extended coverage on items under $100.

Some things just aren't going to break in the warranty period anyway. Most of the time when it does break it is something the warranty won't cover anyway.

I think that most of the time its just wasted money. Now on things that cost alot and break easily say a playstation or computer it is well worth it.

Default Re: warranties.

We just purchased a new refrigerator, and the extened warranty is something that we purchased also. We went with the 4 year full coverage warranty which cost us a pretty penny, but our kids are pretty hard of the fridge. This warranty may come in handy if something happens to it with in the next 4 years.

I had to laugh when I purchased a hair dryer the other day for $15.00 and the lady asked me if I wanted to purchase a warranty on it for an additional $3.00 or something like that. I couldnt stop myself from laughing. Ill save that $3.00 and put it towards something better.LOL

LOL on the hair dryer!! I do not purchase the extewnded warranty unless it is a big purchase. Always get them on computers!! I can attest to that one. I didn't do it or I would not be in the mess I am now. Soon as the orginal warranty was up, guess what, it started messing up.
