Default Ways your identity can be stolen.

One has to be so very careful these days when it comes to our identity and credit cards and banking information. Here are a few ways that people can get their hands on your personal information.

A lot of times, thieves will go through dumpsters, trash bags, etc looking for anything with your personal information on it. This is why I own a shredder and use it when disposing of anything that might have any of my personal information on it. Better to be safe now than sorry later.

You have to be careful when using credit cards or debit cards at any atm as there may be a special storage device added to the machine that will collect your credit card/ debit card numbers. So be aware at all times.

Phishing is another way they try to get your information so dont click on what you dont recognize and dont provide any information either.

This one is hard to catch. People will actually use a change of address card to have your billing statements sent to another address. This one would be used in larger post offices.

Other ways they get your info is by just plain theft, as your wallet or purse. Or they steal records from their employers or bribe someone to do it for them. So you have to be so very careful with your personal information.
