Buy Generic

I know people who will never buy anything generic or off-brand. To me, thats just ridiculous. I will admit that there a few things that I refuse to go generic on. One thing inparticular is my coffee. I am Maxwell House all the way. I have tried some generics and nothing has compared for me yet.

Most things though, I will buy generic. Sugar, flour, cereals, soda, canned goods, otc medicines. heck I can't even think of everything that i buy generic.

I can't imagine how much I would spend a month for five of us if I bought all name brands!!! We are lucky to have enough money now. If I purchased all name brands, we would starve lol!

If you read the labels of most things the same ingredients are in generics as they are in name brands so why spend so much more for the label????

We also buy generic and we are also not willing to give up our Maxwell House Coffee. Speaking of which, we use the 100% Columbian blend because it is a dark, rich, full bodied coffee but when Folgers is on sale, I will buy it. I get the Gourmet Supreme in Folgers and it is comparable to the 100% Columbian blend by Maxwell House.

If I dont want to lose out on my Columbian flavor though I just mix some of the Folgers with it and you get the same flavor.

The generic vegetables whether frozen or in the can are just as good as the name brand veggies and in some cases are actually better than the name brand.

We also buy mainly generic because the savings is significant when buying this way and even though there are only the 2 of us these days, we couldnt make it if we bought name brands.
