Dollar stores.
If you have to buy some things you can save a few bucks at the local dollar store.
For many items like makeup and medications you can actually save a bundle.
A bottle of asprin will cost you $1. If you need a new facebase you can purchase those for much less than evey your cheapest department store.
Toilet paper and papertowels are also a dollar a 4 pack for the toilet paper and a buck a roll for the papertowels.
If you want cheaper than that you will have to go old school and revert to corncobs and newspaper. But not I believe me the dollar store is cheaper and more pleasent than the alternative. Eww.

Re: Dollar stores.
Shopping at dollar stores can really save you alot of money. Like you said medicines, paper towels, bathroom tissue, facial tissues and make-up all that stuff is usally a couple of dollars or less.
This equals alot of savings compared to what you can purchase in major stores. Even if you try to purchase off brand names.
One thing that I purchase alot of at dollar stores are things like body washes, shampoo's, hair ties, toothpaste. All of this stuff alone equals out to be about a $20.00 or more savings for me each time I go shopping.
Dollar stores are the best places to really save yourself some money. Another great thing about dollar stores, is that if you have kids you know that going down just about every isle you will hear can I have this or can I have that. This is something that parents always hear. Though I dont mind hearing it in dollar stores.
I know what they pick out is only going to cost me a couple of dollars where in larger stores it could cost you hundreds of dollars if they got everything that they wanted.

Re: Dollar stores.
I do most of my shopping at the Family Dollar. They have the best deals on just about everything that you use day to day. I swear half my pacheck gets spent there but its for household things that we need and I would spend twice as much anywhere else.

Re: Dollar stores.
There are sooo many things to buy at some dollar stores, its like being a child in a candy store!
Here is a list of things that you can buy at a dollar store that would be triple or higher anywhere's else!!
Scissors
notebooks
cleaners[soaps, laundry, body washes..ect]
socks
figurines
cups
food[cereal, can food, seasonings, some of this stuff is 2/$1]
makeup
nail polish
deodorant
brushes
drinks
kitchen untensils
shower liners
toys
lawn decorations
holiday decorations
placemats
yarn
sewing kits
tooth paste, tooth brushes
shavers
hair clips and accessories
books
batteries
toiletries
I could go on and on....so much to choose from, but there are somethings i would night by from a dollar store, because they just do not last [like scented candles, some food products, etc..]
But for $1, you can't afford not to go check out your local stores!

Re: Dollar stores.
I personally never could understand why some people would prefer to go and spend high prices for things at other stores when you get practically get the same thing at a dollar store for a dollar.
That to me is mind blowing. Granted I am also one who has a few things that I will spend more money on, because what the dollar stores offer doesnt last, so it makes it worth while.
Though the money I save on paper towels, bathroom tissue, facial tissues, detergents and so on, is really amazing and it leaves some money in my wallet.

Re: Dollar stores.
Exactly! Also people don't seem to understand that the majority of stuff at dollar stores where once at the bigger retail stores, its not like there "generic" it just things that were discontinued or were replaced by a newer style or flavor!

Re: Dollar stores.
Actually these days you can buy major brand name items that are fresh - NOT outdated, at dollar stores for a fraction of the cost at major retail stores. Herbal Essences cost about $5 a bottle at major retail stores. The dollar stores charge $3. The same goes for just about any other every day use product that they sell. As far as food goes, their selections are getting a lot better too.
