Default Frugal Living

Here are a few frugal living tips that can help you save some money.

First off you've got to give up the trips to Star Bucks or whatever on your way to work. It costs like $1.89 per medium cup of coffee. You can buy a small can of coffee and make pot after pot of coffee at home for just a couple of bucks more. The saving in a year is almost $500.

Buy frozen foods over eating out. We all have busy lives and so occassionally you just don't have time to cook. You can find some pretty good frozen meals that are good and cost a lot less than eating out.

Grow your own vegetables and freeze or can them. It's unbelievable the cost of veggies these days. It will only get worse too with rising gas prices which effect the vegetable shipments. You can save a ton there.

Coupons are a must these days. Whether it's to save a quarter or two bucks it;s so worth the effort. It really adds up.

Don't buy the wants, just the needs. Okay scratch that. Once in a while you have to treat yourself, just not all the time!

I agree with you, frozen dinners are almost always on sale at Kroger for a dollar or less sometimes, oe using a slow cooker is my way of having a nice dinner for low amounts of money when I know I will not have time to cook that day, or when its to hot for the oven. There are great slow cooker meals in the freezer department for low amounts of money.

A lot of money can be saved with both of youalls' suggestions. In fact, we do grow some of our own food, and I also buy veggies when they are in season and freeze them for use over the winter.

My crock pot is a real life saver and money saver too. You can cook a crockpot full of food and freeze what isnt used for use at a later date.

Things like Hamburger Helper meals are really cheap and served with a nice salad makes for a quick and money saving meal as you can get the off brands of Hamburger Helper for only a dollar.

And speaking of coupons, I watched a show where the woman took her coupons to the grocery store and got over $600 worth of food and household goods and only paid $6.46 for it all. Now thats saving!!!
