Default Getting Ready for Christmas

Well it's that time of year again......Christmas isn't very far away and of course I'm late starting to get those gifts made. I love to crochet little gifts to give neighbors and friends, and they do seem to appreciate my efforts, but as usual I'm just beginning to get those projects underway.

I have a hard time sitting and crocheting in the summer's heat. Even though my home is relatively cool in the summer, there's just something about crocheting that seems to be a wintertime hobby. Anyway, I am getting started now, and hopefully will have time to get everything done in time for Santa.

I will also have to budget some time to get some baking done to give as gifts as well. I have a lot of family, friends and neighbors who are too busy to do a lot of baking for themselves and they really do appreciate getting tins full of goodies to enjoy themselves and to share with their guests at Christmas.

Giving gifts such as these really helps me save a lot of money during the Christmas season. Now I just need to start earlier to make sure I get everything done I want to do, instead of having to hurry to finish!!

Christmas this year just wont be the same without my husband here so for that reason I think I will do gift cards this year as Christmas shopping is not on my list of things to do this year. But then again, I could change my mind between now and then.

As you all know, Kmart has layaway for your holiday shopping convenience and this season, Walmart also has layaway for toys, jewelry, and electronics.

These two places having layaway will take some of the burden off shoppers in as much as paying for all those gifts can come out of several paycheckes instead of one or two, making life easier all the way around.

This season, I need to go get some new decorations to add to the ones I already have and to replace some of the older ones.

Crafts 2000 and Dollar General, Dollar Tree, and Deals are all stores that have very nice decorations and at a price that is affordable to all.

So if you need to replace your decorations, try one of the above mentioned stores and save a bunch of money on what would cost you much more at a high end store.

We have a brand new Dollar General opening about 2 miles from my house on December 7th so I am thinking there will be a grand opening sale and I should be able to pick up some of the needed decorations etc there at a very good price.

It is always wise to take advantage of grand opening sales etc whenever you get the chance. Saving money should be everyones priority.

Plus, another savings for me will be that it will cut off about 12 miles from where I had to drive to get to the same kind of store. Savings!!!
