It is scary that you have to watch just about everything that you do anymore. Any personal information has to be protected to ensure that you dont become a victim of identity theft.

I saw an article on the FBI's website reguarding a scam that was going around for quite some time now. Its about someone calling you stating that you were called for jury duty and that there was an arrest warrant out for you because you didnt show up, after getting your explanation as to why you didnt show up they ask for social security number and date of birth.

Once this is done its quite easy for them to take control of your identity and cost you hundreds or even thousands of dollars!!! This is an old scam, though its still used by criminals.

These types of scams are all over the place. Heck the other day I went to the post office and noticed a man going through the trash picking up various papers that people had simply tossed in the trash. This is why I shred my mail carefully or even burn it when possible!!

Its scary that you have to go to such lengths to protect yourself, but there is no choice in the matter. You have to do it or possibly end up fighting for years to get your name and record cleared.
