Default Save On Vacation

Now that the weather has changed and we are no longer freezing our butts off when going outside. People start heading out on vacations and family trips.

Though we all know that vacations and even family trips can really hit ya in the wallet if your not prepared.

Here are some tips that could possibly help everyone out when planning a trip or a vacation.

1. Pack your own snacks. Buy a large bag of chips or something like that. Then using small snack baggies, divide up the large bag into the baggies. This makes snacks convenient and helps save on money and clean up.

2. Hand Sanitizer and baby wipes are something else that really come in handy for cleaning hands, faces and even small messes that can happen when eating on the go.

3. Bottled water. Purchase a case of bottled water. Toss several of the waters into the freezer and let them freeze. These frozen bottles of water will save you from having to buy ice on the way. The other bottles of water can be put into the cooler with the frozen bottles to keep everything ice cold. Then as the frozen waters thaw out you will have more drinking water.

4. First Aid kit is something else that is needed on every trip. Inside these kits you should have bandaids, nail clippers, scissors and other things. Along with things like Tylenol, ibufrophen, benedryl, gas relief, tums and so on. These things can really come in handy and will save you a lot of money when you don't have to purchase them at a gas station or so on, on your trip.

5. When choosing a hotel to stay at, make sure that they offer things like a free breakfast. This can be a great savings for your self.

6. If taking a road trip prepare some hotdogs and toss them into a thermos. The thermos will keep the hotdogs hot and you can enjoy a nice lunch. Even add in some chili to the thermos with the hotdogs to enjoy chili dogs on your trip.

7. Games. Its always a great idea to be prepared with a variety of different games to keep the kids entertained. Check online for games that can be printed out and so on, so that the kids will have fun playing and will help stop the fighting that can erupt.

These are just a few tips that I have learned to use when going on a trip or vacation.

Default Re: Save On Vacation

Those were some good pointers. My idea of a vacation would be to go on a fishing trip to one of our nearby lakes. Renting a cabin for a week and taking a friend or two or family members along can also be a great savings if everyone splits the cost of renting the cabin and then everyone contributes to the food that will be needed for the week.

Cooking wouldnt be a problem as most of the cabins have a small kitchenette and everyone can take turns preparing meals, that way everyone gets a break from routine everyday chores.

Theres nothing more relaxing to me than being near water and being able to fish as much as I want is a great extra on one of these trips.
