Default Ways to cut expenses.

These are cool and some of which I wouldn't have thought about but now that I know there are several that I will implement.

1. Switch your television to home mode instead of vivid. Vivid is what they are set to for display at the store. If you do this you predicted annual savings is $90 to $150

2. Clean the lint trap on the dryer after every use. It helps it to work more efficiently and can save you up to $34 a year.

3. Stop rinsing those dishes before you drop them in the dishwasher. It will save about 6,500 gallons of water a year and the soap works more efficiently when it has something to stick to. Dollar wise $75 in savings a year.

4. Save about $90 a year by using your computers power save function. You can find it in the control panel then find power options and check the power save option.

5. Find a pot that fits the burner. If you use a large say six inch pot on an eight inch burner you waste 40% of the expended heat. On an electric range annual savings around $36, on a gas stove around $18.

All of those things together add up to around $310. Now what could you do with that money?

Cutting expenses is something we have worked on here at home for a long time out of necessity.

Our electric bills just keep going up and up and up no matter what we do to conserve. And its getting to be very hard to keep it down to a managable level.

We are two older people who live alone and still our bill is over $125 a month which to me is ridiculous. The only times we dont have large electric bills is in the spring and fall. Between the times you have quit using your source of heating and started using the air conditioning.

We conserve in every way possible and still, the other months of the year find those higher utility bills. We need more options for cutting back. Any other ideas out there?

Here are some more ideas for you.

Ok now there are many ways to help save money. Grouping your services is one of them.

Many places offer television and internet service at a discount if you purchase both with that company.

You could also cut down you television programming and watch shows on your computer.

There are many sites out there that you can do so for free. I like ION they have lots of cool shows and the kids like the cartoons.

Now another option is from playon.com. Its $40 a year or an $80 fee.

What you get is the ability to run a program on your computer and watch the show on your television.

If you own a gaming device like playstation 3,WII or Xbox 360 you can use it through them.

You can also get netflix through those systems and watch movies when you want to.

I have always been on a tight budget and now with a car payment added on I really have to be careful. These tips are great and I definitely plan to out some of them to use.

I always shut my pc down after I am through using it. For one, that allows the pc to do it's processing as it shuts down. It puts files back where they belong and allows the computer to run more smoothly not to mention the power savings.

I never purchase trash bags for my smaller cans such as in the bathroom. I simply use the bags that the grocery stores put my items in.

I have been switching over to the more energy efficient light bulbs. I haven't noticed the benefit money-wise yet but I am sure I will. I do know that they last a lot longer and therefore I am not buying bulbs all the time.

More suggestions to help cut your expenses. I have a large family and we all have our own homes.

We like to share our time and meals. We all put in a dish and it makes for a cost cutting adventure.

We also share our coupons and let each other know what sales are going on and where. This helps us all especially if they have the 10 for $10 deals.

We can all buy different things and then split them up. I mean does anyone every really need ten of anything sittin in their cupboard.

I have dsl internet and went out and got a Cisco device for wi-fi. This will allow my son to use his laptop at home. He lives close by and already has it set up. He won't have to pay for internet service since he will be using mine.

There are hundreds of things and ways people can save on money every single day. However the problem is that for some reason most don't seem to want to put in even a little extra effort to give themselves those savings.

It is surprising say that but we all know it is true. I know that any amount of money that I can save will be saved and put to a better use later down the road when it is needed. Though these days with prices of everything going up any money I save around the house is usually put back into the house for items needed and groceries.

Now we also have had a problem in the area with a rock slide which has closed down half of the highway here. This means that we all have to take a detour which takes us all many miles out of our way and this is serious gas useage! So there goes even more money out the window which could have been saved for something else.
