Default Aldi's Food Stores Seeing a Boom

People used to shop at the bigger whole food stores such as Albertson's. With the economy being on the rocks as it is more folks are shopping at discounters such as Aldi's and Save A Lot stores.

Americans are being much more careful with their spending. They are looking for better deals. Leaving the pricey brands on the shelf and grocery shopping less frequently.

Aldi's is able to offer their products because they are what you may call a "no frills" kind of store. They offer just the basics and cut out the middle men such as butchers. They have no fancy displays. They keep things simple so that they can keep their prices low.

I shop at Aldi's and probably always will. You just cannot beat the prices. Feeding a family of five can be pretty costly and I save a bunch by shopping there.

It's no wonder that stores, such as Aldi's are seeing a boom in the amount of customers shopping there. We need to cut out many of the frills in our lives to cut down on the amount of money that we spend each week.

The extras that are offered in stores are paid for out of our pocket, whether we admit it or not. It doesn't hurt us to bag our own groceries or load those groceries into our vehicles. This is good exercise for our bodies as well as a way to save some cash.

I know I don't mind one bit placing my own groceries into the bags and loading them into the car. I don't mind because I know I just saved a bundle compared to what I would have spent elsewhere.

There used to be a save a lot store just down the street from where I live. Though sadfully last year the store closed due to there not being enough business in the area. I was shocked to find this out, I always did all of my shopping there. I do miss the store. Now I do all of my shopping at aldis and at a dollar store. The dollar stores offer great items such as cereal, snacks, canned goods, and other things at a good price. We all have to do our very best to save every penny possible.

Family Dollar stores have a lot of great food items available that are pretty cheap. You can buy a lot of your everyday food staples there and save a bundle! They usually have a lot of in-store coupons available also to save you even more so look out for those.

You are right Pennypinch, since the save a lot store closed down the only store which is close to us now is the Family Dollar Store and we do a good bit of shopping there. They have just about everything we need for our home such as cleaning products, and food items which are used almost daily. I also love the fact that you seem to walk down an isle to find something that you need and there in front of it there is a coupon to help you save even more on the stuff. It is a great place to shop.

I agree, I shopped for the first time at an Aldi's here in connecticut, and i was very impressed. I bought Cereal at 2$ less per box than at any of the bigger grocery stores...cat food, meats, frozen foods and dairy all were cheaper and so far , they all taste good. No complaints, and i will be going back. Family Dollar stores i love, i bought the best scented candle ever, at a family dollar a few months back, i spent a whole dollar on it...it was strawberry and in a canning jar.....it lasted forever, and smelled great to the very last light, I have spent 10$ on candles that did not smell as good or as long as this 1$ candle did!!!!

They have good prices on alot of things, like seasonings and cat food, and thier can goods.

Also a bit of good news for the retail chains, i have heard in the news that they are ALL BRINGING BACK LAYAWAY THIS CHRISTMAS SEASON! WHOOHO!! Thats the smartest thing i have heard during this economy crisises. Layaway helps many enjoy the holidays without stress, me included.

Lay-a-Way is a great way for stores to get people back to shopping again. I havent heard this news in my area yet but I do know that K-mart has always kept their Lay-a-Way here. It would be nice to see places like Wal-mart bring it back as well. Alot of places lost business after doing away with the Lay-a-Way plans. It is alot easier for the consumers to go shopping and get their items on Lay-a-Way and pay little by little on them. Rather than attempting to come up with large sums of money to pay for it all at once. Why stores did away with it in the first place Ill never know, other than I know some places didnt like storing all the items people were wanting. To me it was a really dumb move on their part. Though if they all bring it back, it will be a smart move.
