Buying A Pet
I know this isn't something you would normally find under business finances, but hear me out...
Just yesterday my other half and I went to a pet shop because he finally decided it was time he had a pet to share his home with. He decided that he wanted a Ferret.
I did a lot of research online about how to care for these cute little critters. I made sure I learned what they should and shouldn't have as well as many other do's and dont's.
Now understand these ferrets were for sale for a little over $200.00 each and he was planning on getting two of them. However we walked out of the pet shop empty handed!!!
After asking the clerk questions about the ferrets and he wasn't able to answer any of them!! Even calling over another employee they too didn't know anything about the ferrets!! They couldn't even tell the difference between males or females. This tells me that most likely the animals aren't getting the proper care and this is why I am adding this under business finances because this can hurt the business.
I mean if your going to sell animals....shouldn't you have knowledge about them???? To me that is common sense, but maybe not.
I don't know how a business could sell something and not know anything about what they are selling. Any way this pet shop didn't make a dime off of us because of this. In total they lost around $1,000.00 because of their lack of knowledge. I say this because we would have needed a cage, food, bowls, leash, shampoo and more.
I stongly believe that if a company is going to sell pets, then those working there should have extensive knowledge of the animals they are selling. If they don't how do they expect to make any money if they know nothing about the animals their trying to sell???
