The A&P food chain which was once the largest food chain in the US has filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. With $3.2B worth of debt and just over $2B in assets, the company has take this option.

All stores are fully stocked and open for business at this time.

On the home front, Roomful Express will be closing their doors permanently. The companys stores will be having a going out of business sale to help pay off this debt and they expect this to go on for several months.

There is also the fact that a lot of customers are very unhappy because their lay a ways are not being honored. One couple had almost $1152 of furniture on lay a way and when they went into to make the last payment they were told that that furniture was no longer there and were only offered 20-cents on the dollar in refund or they could pick something else.
