Default Customer Service

Let's talk about customer service. I believe that if you call a company with an issue or complaint the customer service rep that you speak to should he helpful, respectiful and knowledgeable.

Back in December my dad has his brand new cell stolen out of his car. He hates dealing with the cell company so I took care of it for him.

He recieved another phone from a friend. So I hat eto call the company back and get a new SIM card for the phone. This normally takes about 2 days to get. I fought with the company for 3 WEEKS to get it.

Now I have been fighting for several weeks trying to get the new phone activated!!! I have probably spent a total of at least 30 hours actually on the phone trying to get this all straightened out and the phone working and this does not include the times I was hung up on by the customer service reps or the time I spent on hold!!

I think that for someone like me who has been fighting this long to get something simple like this done should get some kind of compensation from the company. I am sure I'm not the only one who has recieved such poor service by a company.

Though if we recieve such poor service, we should be compensated in some way for the headache, hassle, annoyance and time that has been delt with. If we were compensated I am sure that companies would make sure that their customers were properly taken care of and quickly!!

Here is a little update:

I called the cell company AGAIN and after getting more of a run around and more bullshit I informed the rep that I was speaking to, to transfer the call to her supervisor because she was about to have an irate customer.

Then after cussing the supervisor out and screaming for about 30 minutes they finally started doing something.

Well after a bit more cussing, and screaming at them and demanding better service my Dad's phone is now working properly!!

It is sad that it took months to get it taken care of and of course me seriously loosing my temper to get it done, but at least it is finally done!!

Did you also make sure that your dad wont be paying for calls on the stolen phone? I would hate to see him have to pay for something that he isnt using. If you didnt have the other one cancelled, you should call back and have that done.

Its a shame to have to fight with a company to get things done. They all need to keep in mind that it is the customer that is the reason they have that job to begin with. And they should do their very best to be civil and to do their best to help when help is needed.

Getting good customer service any where seems impossible any more, even in a local store. I try not to have to ask anyone anything in a store, no one ever seems to know anything anyways.

As for canceling the old phone, all information was transered to his new one so that was all taken care of. So that was something I didn't have to argue and fight about.

I was so upset while on the home with these supervisors that I was visably shaking and nearly had tears of anger falling. It was horrible. I have never lost my temper like that in years and I didn't want to do it the, but damn it Customer Service should be service to the customers!!!
