Default Do Power Plants Pay Electric Bills???

Driving around the other day shopping I went past a power plant in our area and whether it is day or night there are hundreds if not many more lights on at the plant and I am sure some of those aren't needed.

Everyone is trying to get the people to turn lights off, save water and do what we can to help the planet. Well why don't these power plants do the same for the planet??

I would hate to see the amount of electricity that a power plant burns up in just one month with all of those lights constantly going. Don't get me wrong I know a light bulb isn't supposed to use that much power, but if you have hundreds or more constantly going I think that idea goes out the window.

I think if we all are going to do what we can to help out and save money, why should companies like the power companies not do it as well??

Power plants are probably lucky, chances are they do not have to pay for the power that they use. Though if they did I think there would be some huge changes in the plant.

All of those lights are there for a reason. Firstly to keep airplanes from flying into them and second to protect people from getting hurt. Keeping an eye on something so dangerous and large with little or no lighting would be extremely difficult.

You are right however as they are creating the power they aren't paying for it but we are. I am just glad that the lights are on its when they aren't that we need to be concerned.

Well I am not talking about the lights which warn planes that there is a tower there, everyone knows the importance of those. I am actually talking about the hundreds of lights which are on the outside of the plants buildings, and I know that they are not ALL needed for safety. 90% of the time workers are inside the plant and not outside. So I am thinking that some of those exterior lights arent really needed. All of these lights are used day and night!!! Now I am pretty sure that during daylight hours lights can be turned off at least those on the outside of the building!
