Default FedEx Lay Off's

Earlier this month the well known company FedEx has laid off a thousand employees, 500 of which were from the Memphis area. Employees were laid off due to the global recession we are all at this time facing.

Though employees who are those working for an hourly rate were not affected by this lay off. Only those employees who were exempt and salaried were the ones hit with this lay off.

Those who were affected with this lay off were given a severance package as well as job counseling and of course the opportunity to apply once again in the future to the company as job openings arise and before the opening is advertised to the public.

These lay offs were a effort to cut about one million dollars in expenses per year from the company budget.

Just more sad news on the long road of recession. I hope this begin to look up again soon, I hate hearing of more and more people losing jobs, homes and so on. I think we have all had enough of this type of news, and believe it is about time we start hearing some happier information. Dont you agree?
