Flight Costs Going Up

I just read that air fare rates are going up and they won't fall before the holiday travel season comes.

This has me concerned because as you all know my daughter is going to Europe this Spring. The last thing I need is to have to try and come up with more money for air fare!

"[Consumers] are thinking that if they wait until the last minute, prices will drop, but that's just not going to happen this year," he said.
Seaney said that by his own calculations air fares are up 17% year-to-year. One of the reasons why the increase is so dramatic, he said, is because air fares bottomed out in 2009 -- along with the recession.

My best advice, buy your tickets now if you plan to travel anytime in the near future. I am actually hoping that my daughters ticket price will be locked once I have the trip paid for. I'm not sure if thats how it works but I am hoping.

I hate the sound of this. I live over 1,000 miles from any family members, which mean my kids know their cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents more as faces on a screen than actual squeezable humans. Getting deals on airfare are the only ways we can take a chance on seeing people in person. Blerg. Guess this means I'll be learning I-80 in my sleep.

This is seriously going to hurt most of the vacation destinations across the world. People can barely able to afford plane tickets as it is and with the prices going up, vacation destinations where you can only get to by flying are most likely going to see a drop in revenue because of these ticket prices.

I also hope that your daughters ticket price will be locked so that you won't have to worry about coming up with even more money for airfare.

I guess everyone will be learning roadways much better, because it is most likely going to be cheaper to drive some where instead of flying anymore.
