Default McDonalds does well in April

Strong sales of McDonald's McCafe drinks and breakfast items in April drove a key revenue measurement up by 6 percent world wide. I am guessing this is due to the dollar menu, that is what most people I see ordering, is what people can still afford, I also saw a lot of sales last month on breakfast items, also a lot of ads for the drinks.

The world's biggest hamburger chain said Monday that in the U.S., revenue at company-owned and franchised restaurants open at least 13 months climbed by 4 percent.

This happening after the big day of hiring they had in April. This is good new for stock holders, and owners of McDonald's stores. Do they also help the crew works out with this news? That is my question, after many years ago working for them myself, seeing how little one makes working there, how about a raise for them.

I've never worked for McDonald's but I know here where I live they have advertised for a Manager at $9.00 an hour which I find to be ridiculous. I could see starting someone at that rate but not a manager with all that involves.

I saw somewhere that McDonalds is in the process of hiring like 20,000 people or the number was 60,000 I can't remember exactly. This is a good thing because there are still to this day to many people who are out of work.

It may not be the ideal job they want, but something is better than nothing at all right now.

As for managers starting out at $9.00 per hour isn't bad, yes management does involve a great deal more responsibility but it doesn't pay much better. This goes for just about any company you work for.

I worked as a manager for a store for almost 4 years, I was hired in as an assistant manager, I made $1.50 more than other employees, yet I had a whole bunch more work to do in my day. It is just how things go I guess. Thankfully I wasn't asked to be store manager, because he worked on commission. Even if he worked 50hr weeks he still was only paid for 40. We didn't let that happen often because no one believed it was fair. Again it is just how things go.
