Default School Gardens

I read about some schools here in the good ole state of Ohio that are trying to get gardens planted. The foods that are growns are to be surved in the school cafeteria. This means honestly fresh foods for students to enjoy.

Best part of all this is that the students at the school are responsible for tending to the gardens every day. Doing things like pulling weeds, watering, turning the soil, checking for unwanted pests and what not.

I think that this is a great idea, especially if the school does have the space for such a garden!! It would teach students responsibility, agriculture, healthy eating and more.

This is something that school across the country should do if possible. Even if they have to do planter gardens or something like that or find an empty lot near by and get permission to use it. This in my opinion would really be a great idea!!

The benefits are that the students grew the foods they are eating, its healthy and would save the schools money as well.
