Default Smoking bans.

It seems that just about every state has implemented smoking bans. This has hurt many business owners. It has driven down profits because people aren't coming in and staying to spend their money.

I am reading however that there is a new trend. With the economy being as bad as it is many places are going to the state and telling them how the bans are affecting them.

In New Jersy the state halted the smoking ban in Atlantic City Casinos after 4 of them claimed they would have to file bancruptcy by years end. Smart move by both parties if you ask me.

I know that if I was in a casino and could not smoke that I would not stay. You can't leave your machine to go and have a smoke without cashing out first. If you are on a run who wants to stop.

Business is business and the state needs the business tax money so they are gonna have to help them out.

I totally agree with you. So does my husband and he is a NON smoker. As I said before my money is just as good as a non smoker, and there is a lot of businesses I quit going to in the beginning, before the non smoking ban came into being. I know that a lot businesses would do a lot better if smokers were allowed to smoke. I have even slowed down on playing bingo a lot due to the fact I can’t smoke there anymore, and I have to wonder how many other people quit going as much.

I am another who quit going to certain places and playing bingo as much because of the smoking ban.

I am not going to rush outside and try to smoke a cigarette as fast as possible so that I dont miss anything.

I was never one to visit casinos much so that wasnt a problem for me, but I did love to play bingo. Though because of the smoking ban I dont even play this very often.

Plus its alot worse in the winter. I mean I have the right to be comfortable too, and being forced to stand outside in the freezing cold to smoke isnt right, and same goes for those miserable rainy days. There is nothing like trying to smoke a cigarette and keep it and yourself from getting soaked.

There are alot of business that have suffered huge losses due to this smoking ban. I guess those business who have been hit hard by the bans or those that have even had to close down because of it, should take their complaints to the non-smokers who pushed the bans into effect.

I have something to say on this! lolll

I am sick and tired of everything being made and coddled for none smokers, you cant get out, go to the movies, go to a hospital [ not even on the grounds of a hospital] without seeing no smoking, well what about making some places that are for smokers!....now casinos have been always for smoking, they have no also places for the non smokers, thats good enough, stop trying to coddle all the non smokers and leave some places for us. I mean, if everything is going to be non smoking then why do they still allow companies to make cigarettes?? Why do all these casino dealers and workers complain now, about smokers, when they knew when they took the job that there would be smokers in the casinos????

You can't take a job and then complain about something like its new, when you knew getting into the place there was smoking allowed. i am so sick of every one trying to take everything, and i mean everything away from smokers...and i don't even smoke anymore, but i think the whole process is so unfair to those americans that pay taxes, live in the usa, and deal with everthing that everyone else does, and on top of it, have to deal with this to.

stop the madness, non smokers, you have enough, let the smokers have there casinos!!
