Default Undercover Boss

Undercover Boss is a show that I just say an advertisement for last night and thought that it was very intresting.

The boss/ owner of a company pretends to be a new hire and goes to work at his own business. This would give the boss a great look at ways to improve, ways to help the employees and of course get to know the employees themselves.

Of course this also means that the boss may hear a few things that he doesnt really want to hear from the employees.

Anyway I thought that this would be an intresting show to watch and see what really goes on. Maybe this show will get more bosses to step in and do a bit of the work and see what the workers are going through on a daily basis.

How often have you thought.....well if the boss had to do this day in and day out I bet he/ she would want a higher pay as well. I know I have thought that a few times in my life....LOL.

I have been watching that show and I love it.The boss acts like a normal employee to evaluate the efficientcy of his company. He gets to mingle and work side by side with his employees and it is nice to see what happens in all of the defferent situations.

He went to one of his workers home for dinner and she was doing the job of four people and fighting not to loose her home and when he worked with her one day she had invited him to eat dinner with her family,he went and met her family and learned more of her situation and went back to his manager and said that they needed to hire more people to help her with her job and gave her a raise that she would definately be able to afford to keep her house with.

It is nice to see this kind of thing going on in the world, there are some decent people left.

Now that is amazing. Thanks so much for sharing that one with us Rae74. These kinds of stories are the ones that give us all hope for a better future.

I like the idea of this show because it does allow the business owners to feel what it is like for the employees and get to know them on a personal level. If you make employees happy they are going to be more willing to put the extra work in thats needed and to help make the business even better.

I also think it would be nice to see some employees have to stand in their employers shoes. Everyone always thinks that there is extra money to be had.

This isn't always true. In some cases new employees come in and immediately start out at the same pay scale as older employees. This isn't always fair and it is often made worse when the new employees start demanding more money.

Employers often rely on the employees to do their jobs proficiently and look to them to help generate the funds necessary to make raises possible. Immediately asking for more money when asked to take on a little extra work just adds to the problems the employer has with funding and then others end up doing it when they themselves already have too much to do.

Just a thought. I myself have worked in management and know how hard it is to do the job. Been on both sides of the fence here and wish the experiences could be shared.
