Will there be SS checks and VA disability in August?

A lot is riding on whether the ceiling on the national debt is raised or not. As it stands, if it isnt there wont be any Social Security or Veterans Disability checks sent out in August.

Other things that will happen is that the dollar, stocks, and bonds will collapse. Failure to up the ceiling on the national debt could have world wide repercutions.

If an agreement is reached before the August 2nd deadline, it could have the effect of making the dollar, stocks, and bonds jump instead of spirialing downhill at an accelerated rate.

What is really bad is that the SS checks and VA Disability checks wouldnt go out if the ceiling isnt raised leaving many elderly and sick vets without any monthly income and even just one month without a SS check for the elderly could be completely devastating.

My question is why in the hell do they wait till practically the last minute to deal with these things? Its like playing russian roulette with everyones lives globally.

I do not believe the government will be dumb enough to stop the checks, those are the people who spend at the stores. They also VOTE

I really hate to see the national debt get more out of control, but there are just way to many people who depend on their monthly checks for bills, groceries, doctor visits, perscriptions and more.

They can not go with out their checks. As much as I hate to see this country go into debt even further, I would hate to see so many put through having their checks disappear.

I have to agree that is bullshit that our government waits til the very last minute it seems to take action. It isn't the way things should be.

We seriously need to clean house in this country and get those lazy asses out of power and put people in power who actually give a damn about the country rather than their own bank accounts!!
