Default 7.9 Million Jobs Gone... Some Forever

This is horrific. 7.9 million jobs have been lost during this recession. Thats 7.9 million jobs! 7.9 MILLION people no longer have a steady income. And many of those jobs won't ever be available again according to something I just read.

Quote:
"The job losses during the Great Recession were so off the chart, that even though we've gained about 600,000 private sector jobs back, we've got nearly 8 million jobs to go," said Lakshman Achuthan, managing director of Economic Cycle Research Institute.
Less than 100,000 jobs per month have been added so far this year in the United States. That is a bit better than the previous two recessions in 1991 and 2001 but at the rate that it is now, even if it doubled immediately, it will take until 2013 to get back to where we were.

Quote:
"It's virtually certain that the next recession will come before the job market has healed from the last recession," said Achuthan.
If that is true, most of us will be out of a job. Then what will we all do?

When you stop and think about the ramifications of this its downright scary.

And, if we are without funds now for the unemployed, what will happen during the next recession.

And what if anything is the government doing about this or planning to do? There doesnt seem to be much hope left any more and things seems to be progressing at a snails pace.

But one thing the government needs to think about, no jobs, no tax money coming into their coffers either. So they may want to take another look at the situation out here and act accordingly or they will end up on the short end of the stick too eventually.

Jobless is increasing every day. What this government will do about it is another story.

I found this on Fox News today. Wonder if they think this will help.

House passes financial overhaul bill, sending legislation to Senate for final vote.

You can read the article here.

thats is scary!! i didnt realize exactly how many jobs were lost and how many people and familys that really effects! what are we going to know its hard enough already to find a job!

my daughter has been looking for a job for a while now and she is having no luck because no one is hiring and a lot of the older people are having no choice but to work at places where teenagers would work because no one is hiring. its scary and i hope it changes really soon i dont think we will be able to make it to 2013!

It is horrible that all the jobs are going over seas like they are while all of us over here are losing our homes and worrying about how we are going to feed, cloth, and provide a life for our children.

This is flat out bull crap how things are being done. I live in Michigan and it is almost impossible to get a job. On top of it all the state took away unemployment from most of the people on it to save a little money. I know of one person that when they called about their unemployment being taken he was told by an employee that " the money can go to something better". What ever happened to this country being about the citizens instead of lining the rich peoples pockets while use "low class" people sit here and have to suffer day in and day out.

That is a lot of hungry people The government needs to start thinking about this. We need organizations here to help our people survive in these times of need.

And, like I said before, the gov isnt thinking past the here and now. With 7.9M jobs gone, thats 7.9M less taxes that will be paid.

What I dont understand is where did the jobs go? I know that a lot of businesses have closed up but still there have to be a lot of jobs still available out there.

I have heard it said that a lot of people arent looking for jobs because they are getting more in unemployment than they would if they were working. But thats when they need to face the reality that the unemployment isnt going to last forever.
