Default Alabama- State Of Emergency

After last night Alabama has declared a state of emergency. More than 200 have lost their lives in the numerous tornado's that have struck, those were the confimed deaths and the search for more continue.

From what I heard on the news there were at around 132 tornados that struck the southern states in one night.

I am guessing that more areas are going to be declared diseaster areas with all of the damage that was done.

I seriously wish things like this wouldn't happen. I feel so bad for all those who have lost loved ones at the hands of mother nature. It is a horrible thing to have to deal with.

Arkansas has also been placed in a state of emergency due to the severe storms, flooding and tornados. Numerous families have dealt with death, injuries and property loss. From the new forecast this season is expected to be the worst in years and not over yet.

We all know that this is the season for tornadoes. Though one thing that they said that scared me was that they said this has been the worst tornado season that this country has ever seen!!!

And as you said it is not over with yet. I am hoping though that things don't get any worse. I know that is a lot to wish for, but I think people have already delt with more than enough!!!

I have family and friends that live in North Carolina and South Carolina and this kind of weather scares me because I worry about their safety.

I sure hope that the government as well as the insurance companies are ready and standing by to help these people get their lives back in order real soon.

What I would like to see in this case is help for all of these people coming from here in the US. Plus, other countries too. We are the first ones to jump in with help when other countries go through devastations such as these but it seems we are on our own taking care of our own.

There has been a large loss of life down south and I dont think they have been through all the debris yet so the death count may rise even higher.

All of the families that were so hard hit by these storms are in our prayers and hopefully someone is providing safe and sanitary housing for those who have lost their homes.

There is so much damage that has been done in Alabama that it is shocking. I agree that other countries should be sending help over here as we always do for them. Though I don't see that ever happening.

Check out these pictures of some of the damage that was done.

I just read that Charlie Sheen is going to be helping out those victims in Alabama. Though from what I have read there are many residents who are opposed to this!!

I don't blame them. I think that this is all nothing more than a stunt to try and make him look like a better person after so much time of proving that he isn't.

I am not saying that all residents are against his help, but there are many who would rather search for those missing, start repairing damage, getting lives put back together instead of fawning over a tv star!!

Mississippi is being hit hard with the flooding right now too. I don't know about them being declared as a state of emergency but I know things are not good.

Not only are they dealing with damage but their economy has taken a hit as well. I imagine Alabama's economy is busted too.

It will take years for them to recover.

Quote:
The massive flood churning its way down the Mississippi River will go down in history for its catastrophic, multi-billion dollar impact on the Midwestern economy, says an insurers' research group.

Flooded homes and farms are the most obvious casualties of the overflowing Mississippi. But the impact to commerce along the river is just as important, he said. He said that barges will be unable to ship raw materials down the river. This could directly impact farmers, who will be unable to ship grain down the river, increasing the risk of spoilage.
It's just devastating. So much damage, loss of life. Mother Nature hasn't been kind lately.

I was sort of watching the news yesterday or possibly the day before ( yeah my days are a bit messed up) but they were talking about opening up the flood gate in Mississippi some where to help alleviate some of the problems however they were trying to figure out whether they should flood the farms in the area or the town!!

Either way is good and bad if you think about it. I don't know if a decision has been made yet or not or if it has already been done.

This is one very messed up decision because no matter which way they go there is going to be huge losses and a great deal of damage.

I wish this kind of stuff wouldn't happen anywhere in the world. If we all could get rid of crime, natural disasters, and so on this world would be a much better place.

Any way here is a video I have found on just some of the damage being done in Mississippi, it is horrible and it is going to take quite a long time for them to get back to normal once again.
