Default China has Number Two Economy

I read a little article that says China has surpassed Japan and now holds the number two slot for the largest economy in the world behind the United States.

The United States still has a fairly large edge on China but they are growing quickly.

Check out this chart.

Quote:
In 2009, China's nominal gross domestic product was worth $4.9 trillion, just 3% smaller than Japan's at $5.1 trillion. The United States still has, by far, the world's largest economy. Its GDP was $14.3 trillion in 2009.
China's economy grew at a pace of 11.1% in the first half of the year, Chinese officials said earlier this month, and for the full year, the International Monetary Fund expects the country to post a growth rate of 10.5%.
I went on to read that China expects to actually surpass the United States before the year 2025.

Buy American!!!

The USA still has a lot of products that are made here and a lot of the problem is being able to find them.

When doing regular shopping, just turn the object over and there is usually a little space that tells where that particular product was made.

I have also found a site that offers online buying at places that still have "made in America" products.

These products include Accessories, Apparel, Bed and Bath products, Tools, Appliances and much more.

Buying products that were made in our country keeps our jobs here and helps our economy, so take the time to check where a product was made and buy American.

To check out the American online shopping products check here.

Still made in the USA

It may seem to be difficult to locate something that your needing that has been made here in our own country.

However if you look closely and shop carefully there are still many products on the shelves that have been made in America.

I refuse to purchase anything that was not made in this country. By shopping this way I am helping to make sure that the employment rates in this country do not continue to rise more than they have already!

Of course some of the brands I used to buy for around my home were made in other countries, but I gave them up and found that the products I purchase that are made in this country are just as good if not better than those I bought from other countries.

Given the population of China and the buying power that comes with it, it's no wonder they've surpassed Japan. Let's just be grateful they think American products are as cool as we do. I've been appalled by the recent reports of lead in children's products that have made it out of China's borders, as well as some of the other chemicals we know to be toxic. Scary, really, because what we know as an American company can get its products and pieces from anywhere.

Have anyone of you seen the brief-but-brilliant science fiction series called Firefly? It's an interesting extrapolation of what life is like in the future as China and the United States end up as dual world powers and influences. Very unique--they speak in English and swear in Chinese (and know this isn't supposed to mean something). It's one of my favorites, so I thought I'd check if there are any Browncoats in the room!
