Donations from the heart.
With the economy in the state that it is people are struggling to make ends meet. There has been an increase in the amount of people who are recieving food stamps. The need to supplement the food budget is scary.
I was reading in the local paper that they are asking people to make donations to their local food banks. This will help especially now that we are so close to the holidays. Canned goods are very helpful but so are staples like toilet paper and the like.
Many homes have items that they just haven't used and are nearing their acceptable use dates. Why not take them and donate them. These donations can also be counted on your taxes. Give a family a fighting chance give them what you no longer need or do not use.
I wish I knew how they handle fresh foods. Fresh fruits and vegatables are good for you and make a nice additon to any holiday table. I would also consider making donations of diapers and baby items.
I have a few things that were left here by my daughter that I am sure someone out there is in need of. I want to give them to a place that will not charge the people for them. I am giving them away so why should they sell them.
I have in the past sent plates to my neighbors at holiday time. Some of them are elderly and others are just down on their luck. Others just don't have family to spend their holidays with and it helps to cheer them up. Give of yourself and you recieve much in return.
