Default Ecomic news for Ohio

Manufacturing and retail sectors have had headline positive news in the states served by the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.

The bank reports that economic activity has expanded at a very modest pace in the region. Any expanding is a good thing in these times.

There was an uptick in demand for any business loans, while consumer borrowing stayed weak for the November to December 2010 period surveyed by the bank and reported in Federal Beige Book.

The region's staffing firms have reported a slight increase in job vacancies, although most of these are in the professional business services sectors only.
